1989 high top VW Vanagon Transporter with automatic transmission. This van is totally customized and perfect for camping. It includes a new sink/stove combination, propane stove (with new propane tank welded to the bottom of the van), and removable Engel fridge/freezer unit. Back seats fold down into a queen-sized bed (rare for a VW van). The high hard top allows an average-sized adult to stand up comfortably. The high top includes storage space all around the ceiling. 50W Solar panel on top of the van powers the lights, charge controller, inverter, radio/speakers (there is a new stereo system. with speakers in both the front and rear and bluetooth), and drinking water pump when it is in camper mode. The sink runs from a 10-gallan water tank stored under the back seats. A newly-upgraded battery bank is stored underneath the back seats as well and can store the solar power throughout the night, with enough energy to charge phones and laptop. Fun tie-dye curtains cover the windows, and matching removable curtains for the windshield are included, and can be put on when camping. The van has a clean title. There is a little rust on the exterior. Technically, it is not a Westfalia but it has all the elements of a Westfalia but better!

This van has been well-cared for and underdone regular inspections. Most of the work has been done by one of the best Vanagon repair guys, Dave Ebert in Santa Cruz. We have records going back to at least 2002.
Transmission was replaced in 2019, head gaskets replaced in 2014 and resurfaced in 2020. The transmission has a lifetime warranty with Trans King in Arroyo Grande. All the hoses were replaced in March 2020, when a full tune-up was completed. New electronic window openers were replaced summer 2020. We also have a box full of backup parts stored in the van.

We have owned this van for about 7 years, and have kept it in good condition and added new features to improve the camping experience. Before that, a GoWesty mechanic owned the van. We have had many fun adventures in this van, but our work doesn't allow us to use it as much as we used to.

The odometer says 243,483 but a new (used) engine was put in by the previous owner; we believe around 200,000k around 2010.
