Equipment includes air conditioning, power windows, fog lights, and hard and soft tops. Service in the past two years includes overhauling the front brakes, installing a new timing chain and drive belts, resealing the steering box, replacing the engine mounts, fitting a new battery, and more.
The white exterior was refinished in 2010, and the body features red pinstriping along with fog lamps, chrome mirrors, a power antenna, a black fabric top, and a color-keyed removable hardtop. The rocker-panel molding was replaced in 2012. There is presence of rust inside the fuel-filler door and a small corrosion spot on the driver-side rocker panel just under the schutz liner; these and other small blemishes are consistent with the age of the vehicle.
Chrome-plated 14″ Bundt wheels were fitted in 2015 and wear a set of Michelin Harmony tires showing 2011 date codes. Brake service in September 2019 included new front pads, rotors, and sensors as well as rear hoses and a system flush; the front wheel bearings were also replaced at that time. The brake master cylinder was replaced in November 2019. Lower-control-arm bushings will require replacement.
The cabin features red MB-Tex upholstery, carpets, dashboard, and door panels. Zebrano wood accents the dashboard, center stack, and shifter surround. Factory equipment includes air conditioning, power windows, and cruise control. There is a half-inch crack in the dash, a tear in the piping on the back lower left of the driver’s seat, and separation of the upholstery from the hard boot cover. The sun visors were replaced in 2011.
VDO instrumentation includes a 160-mph speedometer flanked by a three-in-one gauge to the left and a combo tachometer/clock on the right. The six-digit odometer shows just over 68k miles, approximately 600 of which were added since purchasing the vehicle in 2017. The clock and the tape deck in the Becker Mexico AM/FM/cassette stereo are not operative.
The 4.5L M117 V8 is coupled with a three-speed automatic transmission. Service under current ownership included new engine mounts, drive belts, and cam oilers, along with a fuel-pump check valve, a fuel accumulator, a timing chain, and a battery. The steering gearbox was re-sealed and the steering coupling was replaced. There is a small leak from the transmission pan.
