Used 1960 Corvette - - by dealer - vehicle automotive sale for sale in Germantown, WI

This is a great looking and super driving car. It had a total frame on restoration completed in 2008 at a Corvette Restoration shop in Arizona. The entire restoration is well documented in a three ring binder detailing the engine overhaul and numerous pictures during the process. The original frame appears to be “no hit”, is rust free, clean and as straight as an arrow.
There were a little over 10,000 Vettes produced in the 1960 model year. This car is # 5320 and its build date is Mar 23, 1960. The factory installed VIN tag is retained with the original spot welds on the steering column, and based on the correct casting numbers, assembly date codes of the engine, transmission and rear differential, this is certainly a numbers matching driveline. The engine is a single carb 230HP (cast on Mar 14, assembled Mar 16), w/Borg Warner T-10 4Spd (assembled Mar 16) and an “AN” code 3.70:1 Posi rear end (cast on Mar 10 and assembled on Mar 11)
The car sold for a premium price at the Barrett Jackson Scottsdale sale as a numbers matching car to a collector in Texas in 2009, where it remained until it was purchased by its latest owner in Wisconsin in 2019.
In the summer of 2020 it was serviced with all new brake wheel cylinders and rubber brake lines, new fuel tank sending unit, voltage regulator, rebuilt period correct Rochester four barrel carb, new fuel lines, four new tires, and general tune up. All of this totaled $7K and is verified with the receipt from the service facility. For authenticity, the complete original Carter four barrel carb is included and it also retains it’s brass triangle tag.
Operationally, this car drives like a new 1960 Vette. The cold start up is perfect, the engine does not smoke and runs strong, trans synchro’s are all good, there is no unusual driveline noise going down the road and the car drives and brakes straight. The lights, wipers, horn, gauges, speedo/tach, cigarette lighter heater/defroster all work. The radio is the original Wonder Bar Radio and you can hear it “turn on” through the speaker. The Wonderbar works, it seeks stations but is not pulling them in, so there may be a reception problem, i.e., antenna or tuner? The clock was rebuilt during the restoration, but is currently not running, the mechanical knob rotates the hands freely and the face looks like new.
The exterior is Roman Red with the White coves, based on the original paint in the convertible top cavity and restoration pics, this appears to be its original color. The paint is over 10 years old, has a great shine and finish, it has a few chips and minor blisters on the hood and top of the fenders typically found on older restorations, but overall is an outstanding looking car with great curb appeal! Other than the driver’s door glass, all other glass is original with the date codes. The rear glass on the hard top has a stress crack at the base in the center, likely caused by overtightening the center attaching bolt. The white convertible top has the typical wrinkles and wear of a top stowed for years, but the back glass is like new with the correct “Vinylite” logo and date code. All chrome is excellent.
The interior is all correct and has an original owner’s manual, the instrument panel, seats and carpets are all like new!
This car has not been NCRS judged, but with the matching numbers driveline and a lot of originality, this could be a candidate to take to that level. If you are not into the NCRS judging, this is an awesome turn-key type of car that is ready to go, fun to drive and is a “thumbs up head turner” wherever you take it!
