1963 Dodge Dart GT

I bought this car 3 years ago (it had been sitting for 15 years) and spent a year building it into a daily driver. I have driven 7,000 miles in the last 2 years. I was planning on keeping it and maybe converting it to electric down the road, but life has changed and it’s time to move on.

45,XXX miles (I assume 145,XXX)

This is a great running daily driver,
but we should get this out the way:
The differential is whining. It still runs and drives great, but it will need to be replaced reasonably soon. I was contemplating either rebuilding the 7.25 diff or replacing it with the 8.75 because of greater reliability and available parts. But since I am selling it, it will be up to you to make that decision.
Things that I have installed that are not stock/ are modern:
Petronix electronic ignition
Electric radiator fan with adjustable temp setting (with relay)
Radiator overflow bottle
Viper remote door locks
Modern halogen headlights with dual relays
Modern stereo w/two new rear speakers
Solid state 6V converter for dashboard gauges
Fuel line rerouted for ease of valve cover removal/cooling of fuel
Things that I have rebuilt or replaced in this car:

3.7L 225 slant six motor rebuilt with 20-over pistons, balanced. It runs smooth and strong. (original spec was 150hp and 225 torque.)
Valves ground and lapped.
Everything repainted Chrysler red.
New water pump, hoses, thermostat, cap, rotor, wires, reusable rubber valve cover gasket, uprated intake/exhaust gasket.
New radiator (I have the original, it needs rewelding and core)
New Carter BBS carburetor, with new choke mechanism and rubber for throttle.
Rebuilt transmission, with new torque converter.
New speedo cable and gear (the correct gear is not available so the speedo reads off)
Rebuilt 35 amp alternator with new rectifier.
Fuseable link removed and replaced with 50A circuit breaker.
Rebuilt power steering pump with new hoses.
New wiring in the engine compartment with the bulkhead connector completely rebuilt.
All new brake system, with late 60’s Mopar dual master, new lines, cylinders, drums, shoes and hardware.
Interstate battery.

Reseal fuel tank sender with new ground strap, fuel tank new inlet hose rubber and new gas cap.
This car had rust from sitting at the bottom of the doors and behind the rear wheels, all of it was cut out and welded in new metal.
Repainted the 14 inch Rallye wheels, installed new Yokohama tires. (the spare in the trunk is an original 13 inch rim (with a new tire), as a 14 inch tire would not fit in the spare tire space.)
New rubber seal on engine cowl.
New rear suspension bushings.
New shocks all around.

Rebuilt speedometer (although it does not read correctly because the correct gear is not available.)
Rebuilt fuel gauge to use modern solid state 6V converter.
(Note that the fuel and temp gauges work great, but they do not read exactly as it says on the gauge.)
Repaired reverse light switch.
Removed and adjusted/repaired heater box, with new foam, so everything works correctly.
Rebuilt windshield wipers.
There were two rust spots in the floor, so I replaced all the floorboards.
While doing this I found the original factory “Car Production Broadsheet” under the carpet in the passenger footwell. This car was made in Los Angeles.
Replace carpets, including heat/sound deadening under the carpet.
Rebuild seat runners.
All new seat covers and foam. –Although I am hugely disappointed because after 2 years in the sun in LA they have already started to fade.—
New headliner, including heat/sound deadening under the headliner.
Clean and lube all the door window hardware, install plastic rain sheets under the door panels.
Installed 3 point seatbelts in the front. (it still has the 2 point in the back.)
Custom welded together drinks holder/cubby between the seats.
All wiring in the trunk replaced with rebuilt reverse lights installed.
All black carpet in trunk.
New trunk seal.

Included is the 1963 Dart Manual, a transmission manual, as well as extra carpet, extra wiper blades and a tub full of extra/spare parts.

The paint speaks for itself; I assume it is original, except along the bottom ¼ of the car which was touched up after rust removal.
