Used 1964 Corvette Convertible for sale in Byron Center, MI
Vehicle Description
The car has the original numbers matching engine. Engine has Suffix Code: SD which is the 300HP / 327 CI with an automatic transmission. It is believed that the car has 107K miles on it based on the oil change sticker and odometer. Engine runs great. No smoke that I can see. Engine is clean. The valve cover gaskets have been changed because it looked like they might be leaking. The engine has the original spark wire shielding in place plus the original air cleaner. The engine has had a recent oil change and new oil filter. Engine has several chrome pieces on the engine and engine compartment. A new temperature sensor and thermostat were installed. Car just had a front end alignment after the front springs were replaced. Drives great. Front springs were replaced since passenger side spring was sagging due to age. I believe that the engine was rebuilt at some time.
Car has PS and PB both seem to work just fine. Brake lines not rusted. Drum brakes/shoes look good, plenty of life left. A new steering box and front coil springs were put in the car
I believe the car was restored at some point in the recent past (maybe 10-15 years ago or so) since all the ball joints appear new and tire rod ends are tight. The car has recently been greased. Frame has been undercoated with no apparent rust issues.
The car has been repainted since according to the trim tag the car was originally red. The current paint has paint and stone chip marks, a paint scrape on the front fender by the head light and some paint cracking but in general the paint looks good considering the age of the car. Paint chips have been touched up using GM matching silver paint code.
Car comes with white canvas top that is in good condition.
Car appears to have original jack. Currently there is no spare tire.
The car has 4 NEW narrow white wall radial tires.
Bumpers are in good condition with minor imperfections.
As you can see from the pics the car has side pipes. According to the Corvette Black Book side pipes were not available until 1965 so someone has added that to the car. The pipes sound good and are in good condition.
The red interior is clean. Carpet is good. Door cards are good with nice bright work. The drivers seat bottom has some cracks in the vinyl and will be replaced as soon as new covers arrive.
All the gauges work just fine based on the driving the car.
The current radio is an aftermarket AM/FM/Cassette.
Price is $44K. Car is currently in Byron Center Michigan.
