Due to the overwhelming amount of questions/interest/inquiries/offers I have on this vehicle I am updating the post to read as follows: I have received a great deal of offers and interest in this vehicle as well as a great deal of questions so in an effort to answer most questions I have been asked in regards to this vehicle I am posting additional info.
With regards to low-ball offers: I have done some research and feel that the price for this vehicle based on what I have found is reasonable. If you do not agree, or are finding an abundance of these vehicles elsewhere in better condition for less money, I wish you the best in your search and acquisition of another vehicle. For buyers that see the value in the scarcity and condition of this 53 year old vehicle and are SERIOUS about making a purchase; we accept the following for payment methods: Cash (yes, actual paper money), or certified bank checks (ANY bank check will be deposited and will clear the bank prior to release of the vehicle). THAT IS IT. NO WIRE TRANSFERS, NO CREDIT CARDS, NO OTHER FORMS OF PAYMENT PERIOD.
If you would like to have the vehicle looked at prior to purchasing it, feel free to bring someone here to have it looked at for you. We are not driving/trailering this vehicle anywhere.
There are now appx. 60 pictures of the engine, dash, interior, exterior, trunk, headliner, undercarriage, and wheel wells. I have looked in and under the vehicle and have not seen ANY rust anywhere on the car. See pictures and feel free to setup a time to look at it in person.
This is a one owner, collector's vehicle imported from Germany. The original owner flew to Germany to pay for this vehicle and had it shipped back to the U.S. He passed away several years ago and his son inherited the vehicle. It was removed from a storage unit where it has been stored and not driven for the last 7-10 years. We drained the fuel out of the vehicle, added fresh fuel and a new battery and it started right up. It does run and drive. The airbag suspension does not pump up all of the way. The paint and exterior are in excellent condition after 53 years, as well as the interior seating surfaces and upholstery. The dash and some trim pieces are in need of re-doing due to age. The odometer reads in Kilometers and reads 69,000 Kilometers which translates into roughly 42,800 Miles.
