Vehicle Description
Classic car. Clean title. Engine vin and vehicle vin match. Car was assembled at the Fremont, Ca plant in 1968 (engine stamps line up - May 18th, 1968). Body in very good shape. Engine is strong. 8-cyl. 396cid 375hp 4bbl. Runs and drives well. Breaks work well but I am not sure how old. Electrical works well - lights, turing signals, wipers, etc. - even the interior dome light and on/off switch work well. No known mechanical issues, but I am not a mechanic. Front end of car was completely redone but I do not know when the work was done.
Body is in good condition. All original logos are there (Chevelle, 396ss, etc.). Paint in good condition. One small issue with chrome near Front driver side light, but nothing serious is obvious. Original hub cabs all four wheels. Not sure if tires are correct style for car, but current tires in fair condition.
Interior is okay, but could use a “little” work. All interior mechanical works well. Original door panels are good condition with 396 SS logos on doors. Not sure if the interior bench seat is original. Driver side bench seat springs are weak but work. Odometer works and reads 96,000, but I think that the engine was rebuilt.
Note: Needs a tune up for sure and a new passenger side muffler for sure.
Key: runs well and drives well. Not show condition but a good condition car. I am not a classic car specialist, so car should be viewed for more info. Currently on non-op registration but not for any known mechanical issues. I just don’t want to insure it. I am the second owner. Original owner had the car until 2019 when I acquired it.
