This 1972 Chevy started life as a typical 307 V8 Malibu and became a modern version of the "Heavy Chevy" which was a designation given by Chevrolet as a decal and apperance option for those who wanted the coolest car on the street look without having to pay for the insurance of an "SS" Chevelle from 1972.
Ours has been reworked to be a 21st century version with a 402 V8 Big Block that was just installed less than 200 miles ago. A mild hydraulic roller Comp Cam keeps things simple and stress free. Carb is a rebuilt Quarda Jet, Ignition system has had the Petronix conversion. Pypes Exhaust has been added for an excellent sound at idle and off the line.
Transmission is a Turbo 400 attached to a 2:73 12 Bolt Posi rear. Power Steering. New Power Disc Brakes up front, Drums in the rear. Eibach lowering springs on all four corners, sway bars, bushings, ball joints, tie rods and New American Racing Salt Flat Special 17x7" Wheels wrapped in New General G-Max 245/50 ZR 17 tires. Fresh alignment done as well.
Black Vinyl top is in good condition, Paint is also very nice, no bubbling present. Cowl hood was added by us when the engine was installed. Looks great, although non-functional. Custom Auto Sound stereo system with ipod connectivity.
Prices of real Chevelle SS cars and even their clones are outrageous to say the least right now. We have priced this one to sell to a buyer who wants a muscle car without the hassle/drivability issues/expense the accompanies most vehicles in this category.
