Vehicle Description
This Taunus has been very well mechanically maintained, needs nothing to drive home. While I have owned the car I have installed a new master cylinder, new rear brake shoes and wheel cylinders, replaced rubber brake hoses with braided steel, and replaced the rubber steering coupler with a poly coupler.
The interior is in exceptionally nice condition, and both front seats have been recently recovered. Everything electrically on the car works, including the original Blaupunkt radio.
Like most European cars, this car does have some rust. Likely it will need repairs to the lower quarter panels, arches, and other small areas. It was repainted once in Europe before it was, the original color was a slightly brighter shade of blue.
Overall, it’s a great driving European RWD Ford! Leave it stock and enjoy it as is, or build it into a rally car, either way it’ll be a blast. I haven’t been able to find record of any other Taunus’s in this body style in the USA, it’s safe to say only a very few (if any) other than this one were imported.
