Used 1979 Cadillac Sedan DeVille for sale in Miami, MO
Vehicle Description
According to the family, the doctor ordered a new DeVille every 3 to 4 years. The doctor passed away unexpectedly in 1980 and the widow drove the car around Miami only. When it came to getting another car, she parked the Cadillac in the garage and got a smaller car. The car was running when I purchased it, but after I got it home, it continued to sit under the carport for the next 5 years. This year I got it out and did quite a bit of work to it to get it road worthy. Work includes: New whitewall tires. Full service (oil change, transmission filter/fluid change, and serviced the rear axle )The fuel filter was replaced. All engine belts were replaced. The fuel pump and water pump were replaced as well as coolant flush when I did the water pump. The exhaust is all new. I have probably put 1500 to 2000 miles on the car since I got it on the road. The car runs fairly well but could probably use a good tune up and carburetor adjustment as it is very cold natured since the temperatures have fallen a bit at night. According to the limited records on the car, it looks like it was last tuned up in 1986. The interior is in mixed condition. The driver's seat leather is cracking primarily due to lack of conditioning. The rest of the leather is in fair to good shape. To my knowledge, most everything works on the car, including the Air Conditioning, and cruise control. At some point along the way, the A/C was converted to R-134 along with a new compressor (and presumably the other equipment to convert it). The power antenna no longer goes up and down and the power driver's seat no longer operates. I'm about 6ft tall, so it's not all the way back, but probably close. The headliner was sagging so I took it down. I purchased the factory beachwood headliner material, which will go with the car. The bumper fillers have been replaced and painted! The car is not perfect, but is a very presentable driver. This car has the 425 V8 and THM400 transmission. Please call or text with questions. Thanks.
