Vehicle Description
Performance:
- Engine is clean and starts instantly every time. No smoke, very little blow-by.
- Runs very strong and has excellent pull. Achieves freeway speeds with ease, and cruises straight at 80-85mph
with very little effort. Does not overheat.
What's new (performed under my ownership)
- Five brand new 14" tires, including spare
- New steering lock and ignition tumbler
- New motor mounts
- New transmission mount
- New idler arm bushing kit
- New transmission shift bushings
- New transmission shift housing
Not new, but in good repair:
- Fuel filters
- Wipers
- Rear hydraulic self-leveling suspension system (SLS)
- Driveline center support
- Differential mount
- CV axles (right axle new)
- All driving lamps are good and operational
- Instrument dial lamps are good
- All instrument gauges are functional; the odometer works intermittently. Mileage of 293,xxx is not actual
mileage
- Front and rear suspension elements are good
- All window switches are good, and all windows open and close
- Heater and blower motor work
Not working / missing:
- No air conditioning
- No window washer system (front or rear)
- Rear-facing third seat has been removed
- Cargo area interior side panels have been removed, as has the liftgate interior panel
- Vacuum doors locks are non-functional
- Original cloth interior is rough, with some rips, tears and stains, but is serviceable
- Carpet is rough and is missing in places. Where missing, floormats are in place
- Body has various dents, dings, scratches and missing or mismatched trim pieces
- Non-original black paint is of poor quality and condition
- No radio. Original Hirschmann power antenna is in place and powers on, but antenna mast is missing
In summary, this is not a"classic" W123, but instead is a rough but excellent running work wagon, best suited for hauling whatever it is you'd want to haul safely and reliably.
Clean title in my name and registered through May 2022. Never requires smog certification in California.
