I am not a mechanic but I have had this truck for 6 years and the whole time it has had an over-heating problem. For a while, the truck would run great on the highway - I would drive it 3 or 4 hours without a problem - but when I stopped it needed 30 minutes to cool down before I could re-start it. I replaced the starter and then put a heat shield around it, but the truck still overheats. I drove it to the post office a couple of weeks ago (I have not had an issue once it is on the road) and then tried to re-start it to drive home and it wouldn't start. I was able to roll start it and pop the clutch and it started and drove home.
It will probably need to be towed. I am told the frame and underside are in good shape for a truck of this age but I am no expert. This is a work truck. Cosmetically, it is pretty ugly. But when I have used it and it has been running - it has been an awesome truck. The 8' bed is great. But the interior is in fair condition at best. This truck - when it starts - is great for hauling stuff around but at the moment it is not reliable. I have tried to figure out why it overheats but I can't figure it out. Also, the horn doesn't work and the brakes work but need to be pumped. But when I roll start it, I have no problem driving it locally.
Last winter, it was driving fine and the 4WD has been awesome in the snow.
The odometer reads 86,530 and I probably haven't put more than 10,000 - 15,000 miles on it so I have no idea if this is 86,530 or 186,530 and it rolled over long before I got it.
If I could figure out the overheating issue I would never be selling it. But right now, I don't have the time and money to put into it.
The registration lapsed about a month ago and I did not renew it since it is not currently running.
