Vehicle Description
Since I’ve owned it, the car has had a number of cosmetic and mechanical variations, specifically: 3 engines, 3 suspensions, 4 sets of wheels, 4 front bumpers, 3 sets of turbos, 2 transmissions, 3 interiors, 3 ECUs, 5 MAF’s, 3 windshields, and much more. Like any project, it’s been a long journey to get this Z where it is today.
Both myself and Brian Metzler have touched almost every bolt on the car. I would put something together, and then send it to Brian to fix. He built the current engine. Mine spun 4 bearings after the back-flow beads busted out of the oil filter housing. He also installed the beautiful 1994 suede interior.
Cosmetically, it is not perfect; I painted the car as a senior in high school in a local body shop. It came out ok, but its far from immaculate. The car is running and driving well. It’s really quick and has tight handling. There are no known mechanical issues. It stays cool, boosts and shifts smoothly, and pulls strong. No weird noises, grinds, or mysterious stutters. No rust, at all. This is a full flow e85 build. It’s fast.
The body has 131k on it. The car has a rebuilt title that was assigned in 1997 due to minor front end damage to the drivers headlight. Don’t ask why I decided to use a rebuilt title body for this build—I was young and naive, and also had never planned on selling the car. The body is very straight and is no different than a clean title Z. Regardless, I’ve priced accordingly.
