Used 1994 Honda Civic - Ugly but Reliable for sale in Versailles, MO
Vehicle Description
This is probably the ugliest car you'll find on Craigslist. In spite of that it's been a super reliable commuter vehicle for me and has pretty low miles.
First, the bad:
* Salvage title from 2001. That probably explains some of the body stuff.
* Driver side window isn't going up or down. Needs a new motor and track.
* The body isn't falling apart, but there are rust spots, a place where automotive filler is cracking, and the guy who had it before me didn't like the factory purple paint, so he sprayed it down with black spray cans. It's UGLY.
* Missing a few trim parts inside, like the front driver side door corner, one horn button cap.
* Missing some trim pieces on the exterior, driver side door beside the window, badging, and a piece on the passenger side of the windshield.
* Windshield has a crack in it. It's still always passed inspection.
* Passenger side rear door handle isn't working, needs hook reattached inside I think.
* Passenger side rear door cloth is loose
* Interior has some stains and looks old.
* Engine leaks a little oil at the distributor. It's never been enough to have to add between changes.
* The rest of the power windows work fine, but are a bit weak.
* Power locks work, but are a bit weak.
* Fuel fill hatch release doesn't work, I pull it open manually with my hands.
* Aftermarket stereo isn't working to my knowledge (I never used it)
And the good:
* Has 136,000 miles. These are the real miles, I have a Carfax report from 2013 (when I bought it) that shows last reading at 104,000.
* Brand new alternator installed this summer, 2019
* Never been smoked in or had pets in it.
* New exhaust installed September 2018.
* All new rear brake rotors and pads, installed in 2017.
* Tires in excellent shape, two pretty new (purchased new within the last year- can't find my receipt)
* AC works well
* Power mirrors work well
* Runs and drives very well, decently smooth ride for its age, never hesitates to start. No mechanical issues that I'm aware of, besides what's stated above- i.e., no engine or drivetrain problems.
* Passes inspection
* Fresh oil change and air filter, full tank of gas. :)
This car was my daily commuter for several years. It's been super reliable during that whole time- with a Honda engine and transmission it should be. I've had all the service work done at Auto Tech in Versailles, known for their high standard of work and high quality parts.
I have a Carfax report from 2013 on this car to verify the mileage. I have nothing to hide on this car, it's ugly and has a handful of problems, and I don't think any amount of lipstick will make this pig look better. But if you need to get from point A to point B cheaply, you won't find a cheaper or more reliable way than this.
I'm open to offers, and will only take CASH for this sale.
