This truck is setup for work AND play, specifically to carry a 3500lb truck camper. Was planning on keeping it but I bought a newer F450 and she's barely been driven since, just parked and getting dirty so I decided to sell it.
FYI - Utility shell is included with the truck or will sell separately for $1500. The truck camper and boat shown are NOT for sale.
- 160k original miles on 7.3 powerstroke diesel
- Synthetic oil
- Transmission rebuilt and bulletproofed @ 130k by professional transmission shop
- Tires; less than 5k on Michelin 7-ply all terrain tires
- Have most of the maintenance receipts and ALL the major work receipts on this truck.
- Never needs smog, it’s a 1996
Upgrades:
- Torklift Superhitch – 30k tow capacity ! Also able to receive up to 4’ receiver torklift supertruss hitch extension (for use with big boy truck campers).
- Goodyear Airbags, installed by Les Schwabb with custom individual inflation (L and R) for stabilizing loads (and big boy truck campers…!), up to 100lbs…!
- VERY nice locking utility shell / top with side tool boxes and hatches. Desireable rear dual swing out doors, heavy duty roof racks and caution light with wiring harness installed. Tool hatches are also wired with lighting. Matching keys, tinted windows.
- Front tow hitch installed.
- Front fold down cargo basket is currently in the front hitch receiver and comes with this truck.
- Dual tanks – total 32 gallons. Switch primary and backup on the dash.
- Happy jack camper tie down mounts, bed and bumper
- 7 way towing plug + electronic brake control
- Largest size transmission cooler installed
Recent maintenance:
- Oil change – (synthetic rotella t6) October 2020
- ICP – replaced October 2020 (injector control sensor)
- Not recent timewise but just a few thousand miles ago I had to replace the CPU (cam positioning unit), which is a notorious flaw in the 7.3L engine; as amazing as it is, that gets replaced about every 100k.
- Already mentioned but I had the transmission was rebuilt at 130k a few years ago by a highly reputable transmission shop. They upgraded the components during the rebuild for heavy duty towing.
Needs:
- Passenger side wiper blade
- Cleaning / detail – I bought a new F450 so this truck has been sitting on a trickle charger out doors so its dirtier than the pictures show.
- Primary fuel tank guage isn’t just stopped working. Could be the tank sensor, or the switch, not sure. I fill it and watch the odometer, or mainly use the 16gallon reserve tank while driving.
That’s it, this is a VERY smooth driver, strong and reliable. great work truck and its really suited best for a truck camper or hauling. Gearing and all that makes this an excellent truck. All bugs worked out, ready to work !
