Used 1997 Subaru Legacy Outback for sale in White City, OR
Vehicle Description
This vehicle was originally bought from Valley View Auto in Ashland last year. There are 226, 699 miles on the body of the car and the mechanics at Valley View put in a new motor which currently has about 145, 000 miles on it. Manual transmission, cloth interior, a few dings and dents here and there- exterior of car shows normal wear for the age of the vehicle. Interior is in fair condition- emergency brake handle is broken and will need replaced if you want to use it. Has been vacuumed but could use a deep cleaning. Rip in driver's seat. We used seat covers and they looked very nice.
Our family used the vehicle for about 9 months until the head gasket went out which is common in Subarus. Was quoted $1500 from a shop to fix. Would have liked to save the money and fix it ourselves but unfortunately we are NOT mechanically inclined. This would be a wonderful opportunity for someone who IS knowledgeable about cars (or knows someone who is) and can repair the head gasket themselves. To our knowledge, this is all that needs to be done with the car to get it in top shape again.
That being said, this car will need to be towed to your location to be fixed. It runs but I wouldn't risk driving it without replacing the head gasket first.
I truly loved driving this car- lots of space for groceries, taking road trips, and camping. Felt totally safe and confident transporting my children. Love the rugged Subaru vibe- but we recently bought a newer Camry and now have 3 cars. Just putting my feelers out and seeing if anyone is interested. Part of me still wants to keep the car and find someone to repair it. This vehicle is definitely worth the fix- so much more life in this car! Hope to pass it on to someone who can fix it and keep it going strong for years to come.
