1997 Toyota 4Runner SR5 - 4WD - $1,600 obo
This is a well maintained Toyota 4Runner. I bought this truck new in 1997 and it has been exceptionally reliable. It currently has 216,100 miles on it and it has never let me down. The engine runs strong, starts every time and does not use any oil. It has an automatic transmission that shifts as it should although at times it is slow to shift into first gear after you come to a stop. The four wheel drive has always worked perfectly and still does. During a blizzard in the past my brother-in-law and I had to go get more diesel fuel for the tractor, we passed very few other vehicles on the road, but never once felt as if we were in danger of getting stuck. This thing is a beast.
The tires have a fair amount of tread and the front brake pads were replaced about 1,000 miles ago. Overall the exterior is in OK condition. There is a little rust on the body and like many 4Runners the rear bumper is rusted though. I hit a deer about 4 years ago and damaged the front bumper but did not hit it hard enough to damage the radiator or anything else. It has miscellaneous dents and scratches but overall the paint is decent.
The exhaust system is not good. Because of this I did not even try to pass the required VEIP inspection and therefore took it off the road last October.
The interior of the truck is in very good condition. Weather guard molded plastic type floor mats have been used since the truck was new. This is a one owner truck and I am the only driver. I have rarely eaten and never smoked in this truck. The sunroof and all windows work as they should.
