Vehicle Description
Mechanically it is in terrific condition. It is clean underneath and basically has zero rust on it. I also did some extra undercoating on it for added sound deadening of the road, but it doubles as rust protection if it is taken up north.
I have had it almost ten years and do lots of preventative maintenance to it. Here is a small list of it.
I just had the calipers and brake pads replaced, it has the upgraded 199mm tundra brakes for better stopping power.
210k the timing belt kit was done with oem equipment, should be good past 300k.
200k I did a ton of stuff including plugs, wires, transmission fluid with amsoil synthetic, rear diff, and a few other things.
I use arguably the best fluids on the market, amsoil in my cars. If you don't know what it is, I suggest you look it up, great stuff.
I replaced the radiator soon after i got it at about 100k. I also added an extra transmission cooler for extra cool running. Although I never tow anything, this is ready for it.
The exterior is in overall good shape, it could use a paint job on the hood and roof however. I was about to do it, but due to having to drive much longer distances now, I figured I better make a change. I just drove 2500 miles last week.
With that being said, this thing could go cross country with no issues. The only thing my mechanic mentioned was a slight oil leak on the head gasket, which is common with these 4runners. I just clean it now and then, because it hardly uses any noticeable oil.
The interior is overall good. I do use it a lot so it isn't a show truck. I added some seat covers, I may wash them before selling is all they need. I replaced the radio with a new ones a couple of years ago, so it has bluetooth capability and you can use your cell phone to make calls through it.
I also added $200 weathertech floor mats for the front and back seats, I wish I could take them to my new vehicle, but they are custom matched to this car.
It has hankook Dynapro All terrain tires, that honestly are not too bad on road, but are great in nasty conditions. Best guess is they have about 70% wear left on them.
It has a Yaesu amateur radio installed that will not be sold with it unless you want to buy it. It will be left with a very nice nmo mount on the roof that could easily be used for a cb.
These cars typically go 3-400k miles if you abuse them, and way higher if you take half way good care of them. The way I have treated this one, you could drive it to 500k easy if you treat it halfway decent from now on.
I don't go off road much with it, but it can go pretty much anywhere you want to. It does NOT have a rear diff locker, just fyi.
