Used 2000 Chevrolet Impala for sale in Odenville, AL
Vehicle Description
2000 Chevrolet Impala with less than 188,000 miles, V6 3.4 liter engine, automatic transmission, white exterior, gray interior. See window sticker for more details. Three owners since new: the original owner, my mother, and me. Overall this is a nice, clean car. However, it may need a new head gasket (more on this below). Otherwise the car still starts and runs. It was my daily driver until about six months ago. I’m selling it now only because I have too many vehicles and no longer need this one.
The Good:
New parts within the past 2 - 3 years: battery, starter, battery cables, spark plugs, spark plug wires, water pump, thermostat, radiator flush, anti-freeze/coolant, A/C bearing, serpentine belt, front disc brake pads. Tires are in very good condition. Gets about 25 MPG combined city and highway. No known wrecks (it was bumped once in the rear bumper). Other than a few stains (see below), this is a very clean car inside and out. Sale includes a 3-volume set of GM Dealer service manuals and most of the parts and service records since December, 2000.
The Bad:
The engine may need a new head gasket. Although it doesn’t overheat and doesn’t smoke, the engine will occasionally stall; it still runs when it stalls but feels like it may have water in the gas and looses power. The air conditioner does not work (don’t know what the problem is, may just need refrigerant). Fuel gauge does not work (common defect with some GM vehicles of this era). The “Low Coolant Level” dash light comes on/goes off randomly, even if the coolant level is topped off. The “Check Engine” dash light comes on/goes off randomly.
The Ugly:
There are two cracks in the windshield. The paint is peeling and flaking in some areas (another common defect with some GM vehicles of this era). The carpet has a few light stains. There is one place in the carpet beneath the emergency brake that shows heavy wear and tear. And there are some stains in the middle section of the back seat (yes, each of my kids had a “drinking problem” when they were in booster seats).
