For sale I have my 2000 Honda Insight. It has the sought-after 5-speed manual transmission, and mechanically it's in great shape: in the last 6 months, the entire brake system and many other mechanical elements of the car have been overhauled. The transmission is in great shape and the engine runs like a top.

- New front calipers and pads
- New rear brake drums, shoes, hardware
- New rear master cylinders
- New rear wheel bearings
- Brakes bled
- New (donor) rear springs
- New (donor) rear shocks
- Fresh alignment
- New top catalytic converter
- New spark plugs (correctly indexed and matched, for all those Insight gurus out there)
- Fresh oil change and filter
- Cleaned EGR plate and system
- Valve clearances reset to stock

As is, it is a totally functional and economic gas hatchback which still reliably gets 40-50 mpg. This Insight **does not** have a functional IMA battery, although the rest of the charging and integration system is fully functional. It has been set up to run on IMA bypass, so the 12v system still operates normally. This bypass, while fully functional, trips the IMA and Check Engine lights. Additionally, there is a second Check Engine code for an element of the EVAP system I've tracked down. The ABS light is on for one of the 4 sensors (ABS works well), and one brake line has a small leak (brakes are fully functional). The gas gauge is not functional, althogh it's easy to keep track of your gas level with the trip odometer. All this may sound bad, but I am being upfront about all downsides of the car.

Cosmetically, it's in fair condition. The interior is good (headliner is good, no stains, missing floor carpet from the driver's side). It has an upgraded stereo with satelite radio and navigation. The exterior is fair (missing one wheel cover and trim piece, non-matching doors).

Driven as it is now, this Insight is an efficient, reliable, and very economical car. It's also a great candidate for a rebuild, or as a donor car for your Insight or K-Swap project. It's priced to sell, and the price is firm. Let me know when you'd like to come have a look!
