Vehicle Description
I bought this car as a family car because I just had a child. I have a family friend who has experience as a BMW technician so he checked the car out and basically said I should just spend more for something nicer.
There are definitely a number of problems with the car being that it's a 20 year old BMW. Although, it also has the legendary straight 6 engine that is extremely strong. The tires are pretty worn, but replace those and you'll have a great car for a few years. It has brand new coilovers that were installed by the previous owner. I installed them PROPERLY and also raised it a bit, and the car sits quite nicely. The technician friend updated the car on all the recalls (couple recalls for airbags) and at the same time replaced the radiator, upper and lower hose, and sensor. This is basically the perfect car for a 16 year old. It's functional, cheap, decently nice, and definitely safe.
The Primary issue:
There is a misfire in cylinders 3 and 5 on cold starts. Let it idle and warm up for 3 minutes, restart the car, and it drives like a dream. I want to be straightforward to buyers about this problem because it is kind of "serious" but the car will more than likely function great for 30-40k miles.
I have lots more details and knowledge about the car for any interested buyers that would like to meet and see the car. Overall, it's a great drivable car, I just need something different.
