Top and plastic rear window replaced in 2018. Spark plugs, coils, spark tubes replaced last summer. Tons of new parts like new shift knob/boot, fuel cap, brand new center console, door pocket lids, Sony XAV double din stereo with XM and Apple CarPlay installed with Suncoast’s installation kit.
Everything works like AC and heat and all the lights and the top. There is a check engine light on now, it's the bank 2 cat efficiency code, and its emissions test is overdue now. If I didn't have two other Boxsters I would fix this and keep driving it very happily, but I have a couple of nicer ones and they're asking for my time and money, so this one needs to go.
This car is a multiple-time prize winner in PCA concours events. I’ve put a whole lot of love into this car. I have other Boxsters I'm focusing on, otherwise I wouldn’t get rid of this one at all. I just really don’t have space to keep both of them. I'm a Boxster enthusiast and I really enjoyed having and driving this one since 2018.
This car has a clean title in my name and it has a Texas reassigned vin tag. Very early in its life, back in 2002, the car was stolen and recovered. Everywhere there is a Porsche vin sticker matches the vin but the vin plate on the dash and sticker on the door were removed nearly 20 years ago. It’s had owners in Texas, Illinois, and Wisconsin and has been titled in Illinois and Wisconsin with no problems with the Secretary or State or insurance. It’s a regular clean titled car that was given the replacement plate because the dash and door vin plaques were removed. Emissions test passed. I can provide the CarFax in case this makes you nervous, but I've had 0 problems with anything VIN-related for this car.
It’s in wonderful condition and it’s been well loved and well taken care of. Even now with it taking up extra space and not being driven much (due to the newer, faster, cooler other Boxsters) I am still reluctant to sell it, but I know it needs to go.
Many of the pictures of the car are on the 17" Sport Classics, but the car will come on the '01 Boxster twist wheels as shown in the last picture, but a few hundred extra dollars will get you both sets of wheels. There's also a hardtop available for an extra $1,000.
