Up for sale is my 2002 E39 540i with the Sport Package (lowered suspension, black shadowline trim, sport seats, M-Sport steering wheel, lower gearing, M-sport body trim). The car also has 18" Style 37 (M-Parallel) wheels and is mostly stock apart from a DINAN Intake and engine & transmission tunes as well as an aftermarket EONON Android-based headunit. The car originally came with the BMW MKIII navigation system.

Overall the car is in good condition and I still get compliments about it at the gas station every now and then.

Mechanically it's in fantastic shape. It runs and drives great - still has plenty of power, shifts smoothly, starts every time, etc.

The interior is also in great condition - no tears in the leather or cracks on the dash, etc. I replaced the original BMW Navigation system with a EONON Android based head unit that looks "stock" but offers all the modern technology you want. Google Maps, Bluetooth.and basically any app you can find on the Google Play store will run on this car. A Bluetooth OBDII adapter is also included that allows you to scan & clear engine codes, monitor engine stats, etc. using the Torque app from the head unit. It also came with backup and dash cameras, though I did not install those. The only issues with the interior is that both the driver's and passenger seats do not lift evenly - the common 'twisted seat' found in many E39s. It's not a complicated DIY fix, but it requires removing the seats and is just not something I've found the time to tackle. All windows were tinted by a previous owner and the tint on the rear window is starting to bubble. AC/Heat and automatic climate control work, both heated seats work, power everything works, etc.

The exterior is in good shape but does show the car's age a bit. The paint overall still has a good deep shine to it, but looking closely you'll find several swirls, rock chips, door dings, etc. that you'd expect from a car that's almost 20 years old. I've mostly kept it garaged or covered but it doesn't look like the previous owners did. The paint would do well with a full paint correction. The biggest issue with the exterior is the clear bra that I'm guessing was installed in 2002 and has become significantly less "clear" over the years.

Wheels/Tires are a staggered set of BMW Style 37 - aka "M-Parallel" wheels that are in OK shape - they're round and straight but do have some scuffs, deposits, etc. Tires are Pirelli P-Zero All Season Plus - 245/40 R18 in the front and 275/35 R18 in the rear. Tires were installed at 100,000 miles and have about 4,000 miles on them. Treadwear is even on all four.

I have all maintenance records from my ownership (purchased in December 2017) and have pieced together quite a bit of the maintenance history from previous owners that I can share with interested parties. I believe I am the 4th owner. Prior to my ownership, the car was regularly serviced at Murray/BMW of Denver or by a BMW Certified Technician and I have kept up with maintenance as needed - either by myself or at Paddock Imports. A full spreadsheet of all maintenance completed during my ownership is available for anyone that is interested.

Within the past year (1,200 miles), I've replaced the front pads & rotors, windshield, wiper blades, oil & filter, and battery. The entire cooling system was replaced in 2018 at ~96,000 miles.

Included with the car are 2 keys, owners manual, car cover, windshield heat shield, original stereo/navigation unit, dash cam (not installed), reverse camera (not installed), USB dongle to get the BMW On Board Computer running on the EONON head unit (not installed - also requires a paid android app) and 2 winter/snow tires for the rear as well as 2 rear wheels (one wheel is cracked, though).

This is a great car that is still a joy to drive. Problem is, I don't drive it much anymore. This is one of 3 BMWs that I own and I'm looking to sell this to make some room and also get it in the hands of someone that's going to drive it and give it the attention it deserves.
