The 7.3 starts right up and runs flawless. Power windows and locks work air conditioning blows cold. Interior is really nice only one small hole in drivers seat. The 82 year old man I bought it off put a brand new set of tires on it. On his way home the transmission went out. So they have maybe 10 miles on them. Transmission has first second and reverse. I tried the usual solenoid pack that controls the shift and tried a new 2nd to 3rd shift valve neither worked. I am thinking it has a snap ring that came undone for the clutches but don't Know. The fluid was fairly clean with no metal shavings in the pan. But the pan did have some fine clutch material that leads me to believe the snap ring on the clutches let loose common problem. I have found a rebuilt one on line with all the upgrades for factory defects for $1750 on line with free delivery and pick up of the core. Before I change the transmission I will offer it up for sale for a reduced price of $6,000. I have seen trucks like this advertised for $15,000 so 6 grand is a good price for a low mile 7.3 that will haul the word and are known for going a million miles. But the best part is no def fluid and trucks like this are known for 20 mpg. I accept cash have the title in my hand.
