Routine Maintenance / Issues Diagnosed and Resolved:
- Regular Oil Changes and Chassis Lubrication
- Brakes flushed at 107K
- Transfer Case fluid replaced at 107K
- Radiator leak at ~110K, replaced radiator and hoses and performed coolant flush
- Throttle position sensor failed at ~110K, replaced sensor and connector
- Gas filler hose cracked and worn at ~120K, replaced
- Crankshaft position sensor failed at 133K, replaced sensor and connector
- Replaced spark plugs at 133K, though was not needed.
- Brand new windshield @ 137k
I have driven this rig all over the western US and Canada in the 7 years I've had it and am sad to see it go. It's seen many miles and feels at home on the mining roads of the San Juan Mountains in Colorado. It's delivered me safely out of more than a few sketchy 4x4 "trails" on the sunshine coast of British Columbia. I had plans to build better axles and lockers and regear the differentials, but priorities shifted. The engine, transmission, and transfer case are bulletproof. This truck handled everything I could throw at it, never had any questionable moments with any of the driveline except for the few sensor failures noted above, which were easily diagnosed and fixed. The aftermarket suspension has been properly aligned and the driveshaft balanced and rebalanced, and DRASTICALLY improves the offroad capability of the jeep.
