- Timing belt, water pump, drive belts, coolant and thermostat replaced at 235,000 miles
- Monroe OE struts replaced at 220,000 miles
- New engine and transmission mounts
- JVC head unit with HD radio, USB, CD
- New spark plugs, ignition coils and spark plug wires at 265,000 miles
- Working AC
- Front and rear dash camera (no SD card)
- Receiver hitch with 2" ball and locking pin
- Replaced both battery terminals
- Power door locks and windows
- Keyless entry with 2 key fobs
- Cruise control
- Electric sunroof
The engine and transmission are in good condition. No fluid leaks. No check engine light or any mechanical issues. This has been my daily driver since July 2010 and recently purchased something newer. I've done the timing belt twice since I've owned it. I replaced the left front (2011) and left rear wheel bearing (2018). I can't remember when I last did the brakes. Recently I put in a new shifter because the original was rattling. The car has some interior wear and fading, but there are no major stains or rips in the interior.
Compression was checked in August 2019 at 265,000 miles:
Cylinder 1: 192 psi
Cylinder 2: 189 psi
Cylinder 3: 186 psi
Cylinder 4: 194 psi
The car has a few minor issues:
- Clutch chatters after long drives on highway (Common to Protege's)
- AC is intermittent on fan speed 2 (Common to Protege's)
- Valves should be adjusted (Common to Protege's)
- Chrome wheels are beat up from tire chains (previous owner)
- Some small dents on driver side fender from someone backing into it
I've had very few issues with this car since I've owned it. Parts are cheap and it is easy to work on. I have a digital copy of the Mazda Service Manual that I can email you if you buy the car.
