Used 2003 Acura TL Type-S FOR SALE for sale in Lagrangeville, NY
Vehicle Description
First the bad news: This vehicle was just diagnosed at a certified Acura dealership for a cold start misfire, it will need to have the front bank head gasket replaced before being driven regularly to prevent future issues with the misfire and CEL. Vehicle currently runs very strong with no contamination of engine oil and coolant due to the head gasket, but experiences an intermittent rough idle and random misfire that clears after warm up. Aside from this issue, the car is mechanically sound.
Now the good news: This vehicle has been my daily driver for over 10 years, and with the exception of a timing belt change @ 144K, and a Honda Accord V6 BAYA transmission swap @ 176K, all maintenance was performed by me. The transmission swap eliminates the problem these cars are known to have with clutch pack/transmission failure on the factory installed 5AT transmission.
In the last 6K miles The following list of new parts have been installed:
- KONI yellow adjustable shocks/struts have been installed on all 4 corners with new bushings.
- Radiator, along with upper/lower and rear hoses.
- Thermostat
- Fan Switches and Relays
- Cooling Fan Assembly
- EGR Valve
- PCV Valve
- Spark Plugs (NGK Iridium IX)
Also includes 4 additional 17" Type-S wheels and new Front and Rear brake pad sets.
I had planned to keep this vehicle for another 50K miles minimum, but decided to move on and purchased a newer TL. This car is a great option for a mechanic or tech that can replace the head gasket cheaply and then have a solid performance car on their hands at a reduced cost.
