Vehicle Description
There is some rust on the tailgate, and a small amount over the passenger side rear wheel. There is some rust on the rocker panels, but not on the doors. The interior is in particularly good condition. No smoking happened in this truck, too. For it's age, it's in fairly good condition overall. The lighter area in the photo of the bed of the truck is just the sun shining through. It's all black.
The transfer case does need repair or replacement. The ‘service 4WD’ light came on not long ago. I took it in for service and all new tires in preparation for winter. It was found that the transfer case was bad. It is currently in 4- wheel drive. A rebuilt transfer case runs about $800. I am not a mechanic and could not install a new or rebuilt case myself. I was going to be buying a newer truck anyway and decided to do it now.
This truck has been very dependable, and the tow package is nice for stabilizing a trailer. I was so impressed by this truck, I bought the same make and model, but newer. I care for an elderly relative and belong to a mounted search and rescue group. I felt more comfortable with a newer truck at this time. This truck would be great for snow plowing if you put on a plow. This truck was often parked outside during the winter, next to windswept fields, for a couple weeks at a time. I never had a problem with it starting even in the coldest weather.
