This 2007 Ford Expedition is as follows:

Drive: Rear Wheel Drive
The good: The car runs good and I literally just drove from Texas and back twice - nonstop with no issues. Emissions Ready. New Tires. The Check Engine Light is not on.
The bad: Timing chain makes noise upon cold start for about 1 second. Will need to be changed soon or tensioned. I've called around and it's about $1000 to have the job done.
I bought this car about 2 years ago in Houston while I was going to college. It started with about 145,000 miles. If you order a Carfax, you'll see that this car was in an minor accident some years before I bought the car. It damaged the left hand side of the car. When I bought the car it was drivable but the stabilizer link and the arm was raggedy.
That has since been repaired and there is not a problem when turning. However, the breaks for the left hand side had been completely replaced by someone else and uses a different (2014 Expedition) brake pad. What does this mean? It means if you want to change the breaks, you need to buy a new set of breaks for the right hand side (2007) and a set for the left hand side (2014). Why did they do this? I couldn't tell you.
Honest opinion: If you do not plan to put take care of the timing chain within at least 3 to 6 months, you should not buy this car.
For your consideration, here is what a Mechanical Engineer said online, " “Going” likely means it is loose and slapping the side of the timing cover. Not a big deal, especially if a pushrod engine which has a short and thick timing chain which almost never breaks. Think of it as a warning that you need to change it in the near future. Some have a tensioner on the return side which minimizes slapping, indeed all overhead camshaft engines do since the timing chain is very long and more like a bicycle chain, which would flop around without a tensioner even when new. "
This opinion is similar to one an ASE mechanic told me in Texas.
