Very peppy 4.0 V6. Automatic transmission. 4x4.
Currently inspected and running fine. In great shape, with low mileage (109k), no mechanical problems. No fluid leaks. Everything works.
New alternator, idler pulley, and belt. Brand new full size spare wheel and tire. Includes folding bed cover. Aftermarket bluetooth stereo.
Great truck. Ready to go.
History/Reason for selling
This was my Dad's truck. He died last year and it has seen little use since. My wife and I have driven it sparingly over the last year as a secondary backup vehicle. Because we have a small child, and we often travel with Grandma, this isn't the right type of vehicle for our family anymore. I wish I could justify keeping it, but I really need something more family friendly, so it needs to go to someone who can make better use of it.
Known minor issues:
There are a few minor paint ships on the bumper/fender wells.
The front tires are a little cupped because it was out of alignment when Dad had it. I replaced a front wheel bearing and had the alignment done. Tires are ok to drive on now, but might need to be replaced by the next inspection.
It is well known that these trucks were susceptible to early frame rust outs. This original frame has no serious rust. The pics tell the honest story. Its totally solid, with just a bit of superficial rust on the two cab supports and a little around the rear shocks. I removed the spare tire to show that the rear portion, including the hitch, is essentially rust free. If you clean it up a little and maintain it properly, there is no reason this frame won't last as long as the drivetrain. The lack of serious rust is a big part of the reason why it's worth as much as it is.
