Used 2008 Honda Civic Si, all original, excellent - - by for sale in Buffalo, NY
Vehicle Description
Up for sale (tentatively) is my 2008 Honda Civic Si. The car is finished in its original Habanero Red paint (an Si exclusive color, offered only from 2006-2008) from the factory, with the black suede/cloth interior. The car has 118K miles (this will gradually go up). The car is all original, and runs/drives/looks great. We are the second owners, went to Classic Honda in Ohio back in 2010 to purchase it certified used (I have a huge binder chronologically ordered of all service records since we’ve owned it). It has been a seasonal daily driver for us ever since. I’ll give a breakdown of each part of the car below for those interested.
Engine/transmission – the car runs/drives/shifts exactly as it should. No issues at all, and have never had one either. Clutch is original, no slips/grinds or anything, shifts perfectly in every gear. I would write more here, but there is nothing to say, it’s excellent. I recently changed the spark plugs (factory NGK spec) and replaced the A/C compressor, as the air conditioning was going in/out. Common problem with these cars, but all set now.
Suspension/brakes – Ride quality is fantastic, no squeaks/rattles, everything underneath the car is rock solid (I have a lift in my garage and routinely check it). Brakes are newer all the way around, including brand new emergency brake cables from Honda, as well as new rear calipers (both of these are common issues with these cars). I also cleaned everything upon completion, and painted all the calipers flat black. So needless to say, stopping power is great, and they now look quite good as well through the wheels.
Exterior/interior – The paint is fantastic for a car its age, however it isn’t perfect. There are some small scratches throughout, but nothing offensive. A couple years ago I had a paintless dent guy come and remove a few tiny dings, just because the car was nice enough to warrant the service. Most noticeable flaw in the body is below the passenger side front door, there are a few mysterious dings, that to this day, I have no idea how they got there. Regardless, they are at the bottom of the car, and I don’t even notice them anymore. The interior isn’t quite flawless, but about as good as it can be for the mileage/year. There are no rips/tears/stains, and the carpets have always been protected with Weathertech mats over them. It presents extremely well.
So, after all this detail, why would I sell this car? Great question. Even I don’t have a good answer. I guess I no longer need it, having other fun cars to drive, and maybe feel it might be time to pass it on to the right buyer who can appreciate this amazing car. It’s nearly impossible to find an Si of this generation in this kind of shape. As such, my asking price reflects that. I am not willing to negotiate, as I am really fine keeping it either way. Older Civic Si’s have simply skyrocketed in value when they are in good and stock/original condition, so with each passing generation, I wouldn’t mind being on the right side of that value in a few years. I guess we will see…
