Used 2008 Honda Odyssey EX-L for sale in Olympia, WA
Vehicle Description
This is our 2008 Honda Odyssey EX-L with 138k maintained miles. It comes with two keys with remote fobs that can operate the power sliding doors, owner’s manual, maintenance records and original window sticker. Yes the timing belt has been done. This has been a great van for us, but our family has stopped growing and we no longer have use for it. We are the second owner. This is a two owner van. It has the following options:
Leather seating for 8 people
Rear back-up camera
Heated front seats
Power sliding doors
Sunroof
Roof rack with cross bars.
The following things have been added:
Bluetooth connectivity that uses the factory radio and steering wheel controls.
Tow package (used once)
Air bag helper springs (necessary for hauling 8 people or towing a trailer)
Maintenance that has been done since we bought it 4 years ago at 97k miles. Besides oil changes, the big stuff includes:
SEP 2019 @ 137k: Rear brake service.
FEB 2019 @ 134k: New Alternator, oil leak repair. Cost $1214
DEC 2018 @ 132k: Valve adjustment, valve cover gaskets, transmission fluid. Cost $762
MAR 2018: Replaced oil drain pan. (Was stripped out by Honda Tech in Georgia)
SEP 2017 @ 123k: Steering rack adjustment and 4 wheel alignment. Cost $372
MAY 2017 @ 116k: Oil and Transmission Fluid Change. Cost $157
APR 2016 @ 103k: Spark plug replacement with OEM NGK Iridium plugs; front and rear performance slotted brake rotors and pads, Air Lift air helper springs. $587 + my time to instal
MAR 2016 @ 102k: Timing belt, water pump replacement, transmission fluid change. Cost $1088
It has Michelin tires with lots of tread left. I’ve done the majority of oil changes myself as it has an aluminum oil pan and one of the Honda dealers stripped it out when changing it. I used the dealerships for the bigger stuff that requires specialty tools. The power doors function well, but occasionally need to be prompted twice to work. They have been that way since we bought the van 4 years ago. I think they have a little slack in the line that needs to be adjusted. Also, the Honda Dealer tried upselling me by saying the cams were “burnt” when adjusting the valves. Prior to taking the van there, I had the front valve cover off and I didn’t see anything abnormal with the cams. This same dealer talked previously my wife into replacing her spark plugs on her CRV when it wasn’t needed, so I didn’t go with their recommendation. The van has been running fine since that recommendation in January.
I would not hesitate getting in this van and driving it to Florida and back tomorrow if needed. If you are shopping for a Honda Odyssey, this is the one you want. The 2008-2010 had upgraded transmissions that are not prone to fail like earlier models. Feel free to Google it, and you’ll see why this is a better buy. I have also had a VCM Muzzler on it since buying it. It helps extend engine life. I can remove it for you if you like.
The title is free and clear and in my name. It is a Georgia title as we are military, but you can title and register it here in Washington.
I just discovered a small power steering fluid leak out of the high pressure hose. I have ordered the hose and will replace it as soon as I receive it.
