he AEVIT 2.0 is the fourth generation drive by wire system from AEVIT. The driving controls systems are totally integrated units that contain primary and secondary controls. Primary controls consist of gas/brake and steering functions. Secondary controls consist of other aspects of the vehicle, such as turn signals, horn, windshield wipers, etc. The AEVIT 2.0 system uses two servomotors, one for the gas/brake functions and one for the steering functions. Various input devices used to send electronic signals to the servomotors to perform the desired operation. Input devices include lever, joystick or wheel/lever, wheel/joystick. Input devices will vary on the functionality of the patient.

The Lever is used for gas/brake input and requires only 4lbs of force to go from full braking to full gas position. This control is designed for patients that have a wider range of motion and effort capabilities.

The Wheel is used for steering in conjunction with the Lever. The steering input has a 2:1 ration between the AEVIT wheel and the vehicle's steering wheel. It requires only 3.2oz of force and is designed for customers that have a wider range of motion

The Joystick is used as two-axis input for gas/brake/steering or single axis for either gas/brake or steering. This device requires only 3.2oz of force to operate and designed for patient's that have minimal range of motion and effort level.

The Wheel/Joystick uses a combination input that utilizes the wheel for steering and joystick for gas/brake on one console that is mounted in the center of the driving area. The Evaluator Console like the Wheel/Joystick console is used for steering and gas/brake, has Inhabited Takeover that allows the Driver Trainer to take over control of both steering and gas/brake should a problem arise with the patient while operating the vehicle.

The secondary controls are operated via the 7' touch screen display, voice control and digitone by using the auditory skills to select the secondary control. The touch screen display offers these standard options for the secondary controls. Ignition/Starting, Lights, Turns signals/hazards, Horn/Dimmer, Wipers/Auto Wipers, Cruise control, Shift, Windows, Locks and Electric Park Brake. These options are customizable and can even have extra auxiliary feature programmed for options like sunroom control.

Orthotic devices to be used in conjunction with the primary controls are, hand splints, t-handles, tri-pins, pin switches and spinner knobs with various shapes and sizes. Additional accessories include convenience features like remote start and safety features like battery backup to allow for emergency egress and vehicle starting
