Vehicle Description
Reason for selling: Recently the transmission has been making a hissing noise. I took the car to Subarus R Us and they replaced the transmission bearing but unfortunately, the noise didn’t go away, and shortly after I noticed the rear differential started leaking. I took the car back to Subarus R Us and they stated that whoever worked on my car before them over tighten the drain bolt and that’s why it’s leaking. They were able to patch the leak and as far as I can tell it’s no longer leaking. As for the hissing noise they were unable to identify the issue after working on it for several days. They said it’s something internal and they gave me two options, drive it until it breaks or replace the transmission now. Unfortunately, my money is tied up in my startup business so I do not have the funds to replace the transmission.
The car still drives great aside from the annoying hissing sound. It doesn’t miss gear or grind. I took it on a road trip from Asheville to Covington, VA ( 5 hr drive) after getting it back from the shop and it did not have any problems along the way.
