BMW made 300 units of the 30th Anniversary Edition, and 30 of those were sent to the United States during the 2015 model year. When new, it stood out as the most powerful street-legal car ever built by BMW's M division. Its 3.7-second 0-to-60 mph time made it about half a second quicker than the standard M5, and it reached a 190-mph top speed.
Power for this M5 comes from the "S63" twin-turbocharged 4.4-liter V8, which produces 600 horsepower and 516 lb-ft of torque. It spins the rear wheels via a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission linked to shift paddles and an M differential. For context, the regular M5's V8 was tuned to develop 560 horsepower and 500 lb-ft of torque.
