Used All Original 1986 Ford Ranger XL - cars & trucks - by owner -... for sale in San Carlos, CA
Vehicle Description
No damage to the leather interior, a few pen-tip sized flakes missing and repaired in exterior paint.
This model was not ever originally configured with AC, but heat works.
A few leaky spots due to age, but no frame rot, and barely any rust on the frame. I forget the exact mileage, but can get that for anyone who emails.
I used it as a reliable daily driver for two years before compression was reduced in one cylinder (sitting at around 85). I’ve been slowly replacing parts as it’s been mainly turned into a project truck, and has been sitting for a few months (since May). New filters, new distributor, new ignition coil and wiring, and timing has been corrected. He starts and runs, but is out of gas (originally drained so I could work on fuel lines), and safest would be to tow.
I hate to part with him as he is nearly perfect aesthetically, and I love old, American square bodies. I intended to keep him, but I’m relocating, and transporting him (plus my other vehicles) during this covid chaos is a lot for one person to handle.
Priced “as is” due to mileage, mechanical issues, needing a tow, and the registration isn’t current, but no lowballs due to desirability of original older style American trucks. I have all the records, receipts, and warranties dating back to the ‘80s and ‘90s for work done, parts, and maintenance. I also have assorted spare parts, belts, and tools that can go with him. He doesn’t need to be a project truck if the compression issue is fixed off the bat because not much restoration is needed outside of under the hood, but he’s been fun to work on. Kills me to let him go, but if you’re interested in investing some time and money, you’ll have a stunning classic truck on your hands!
