Used Antique: 1916 Scripps-Booth Model C for sale in Fresno, CA
Vehicle Description
A handsome vehicle with glittering German-silver radiator shell, torpedo stern, and airy Houk wire wheels. This Model C is powered by a four-cylinder 20hp Sterling engine.
In the day the Scripps-Booth could be found at the same dealers with Isotta Franschini vehicles or Rolls-Royce’s were sold.
The car today as seen in the pictures is a beautiful dark red. It was once black, but my grandfather wanted a flashier sports car look. He was the last person to drive this vehicle. My grandfather George Pope a man who loved cars and machines; collected cars all his life and formally owed Pope Tier Company. He was proud to own a Scripps-Booth 1916 Model C because last I heard there were only a hand full left in the world and only 2 of them ran, one of them being this Scripps-Booth you’re looking at today. The vehicle has not been able to start in some time, mainly due to minimal time available to work on the vehicle.
We would love for someone to give it the attention it deserves.
The vehicle has been stored in my grandfather’s old automotive shop; covered by blankets to protect it from dust and on car jacks to release gravities pressure.
