We love seeing these classic wagons. They were often the most expensive cars in their model line, even priced above the convertibles. So the production numbers remain low, making for true rarity amongst mass-producers like Ford. That kind of history is why this one has been treated with such care. It completed a comprehensive restoration about 10 years ago. We even have the photo book documenting how this became such a straight, clean, and shining example in its correct turquoise-like Ming Green. And while most 1960s cars have good brightwork, it's really great to take note of it here. The full-length trim showcases the straightness of the sheetmetal; the window trim shows off the wraparound rear glass; and the roof rack will have you thinking about road trips. Plus, Ford's styled steel wheels are a sporty touch for this V8 classic. And while this has a terrific stock-like presentation, one piece you know the factory never offered was a trailer. This is a custom build that cut out the center section of a two-door Falcon and converted both the hood and trunk for deep storage cubbies. And with the matching color, wheel, chrome, and working taillights, it makes for an exceptional custom addition that you'll also certainly find quite handy.
The appeal of the interior is as clear as black and white.literally. The two-tone upholstery was part of the upgrade during the restoration. Not only is it comprehensive, but also thoughtfully laid out. After all black carpeting and black armrests are better for carefree enjoyment. While the trailer can handle the messy stuff, the large cargo area and fold-down rear seat means this compact Falcon can handle big items inside. And the fold-down tailgate makes this great for all-day at the ballgame. You'll love how this gives you plenty of vintage details, including the stylized steering wheel and the AM radio that's there for display. Plus, the correct-style air conditioning unit is actually blowing cold with modern R134a refrigerant.
This was the debut year for V8 power in the Falcon, and the trim tag tells us this wagon was born with one. That's why it's great to lift the hood and see such a well-presented 260 cubic-inch V8. More than just look good, the way this motor fires up and runs tells you it was given the right attention during the restoration and proper care since.
