1966 JAGUAR E-TYPE 4.2 LITER SERIES 1 ROADSTER:
-Red with Black leather interior, Black carpeting, Black convertible top, Fully documented rotisserie restoration by Jaguar specialists, Uprated 5-speed manual, Jaguar collector owned, Exceptional throughout.
This E-Type was manufactured November 3, 1965 and sold through Jaguar Cars, New York to its first owner Mr. Edward Douglas Rose. Further early history is unknown. The E-Type was acquired by Mr. Martin Avery of Coronado, CA in the early 2000s. Mr. Avery commissioned a no-expense spared, full rotisserie restoration of this E-Type from 2006-2008 totaling more than $200,000, all with Jaguar specialists, XKs Unlimited and Classic Showcase. The restoration was completely documented with pictures and every receipt included with the sale. Jason Len, head of restorations for XKs Unlimited oversaw the entire restoration process of this E-Type.
During the XKE's restoration, it was stripped to down to bare metal, then painted, wet sanded and buffed to its beautiful finish. The interior of the roadster has been trimmed with a new BASS interior complemented with restored bows, and a new soft-top. the E-Type's engine and suspension were completely rebuilt and all other systems were carefully gone through to ensure great driving pleasure. The roadster features a number of mechanical and performance upgrades, which includes rebuilding the 4.2-liter with overhead cam engine, headers, triple SU carburetors, a T-5 5-speed fully synchronized transmission and high-torque starter. It also has a stainless-steel sport exhaust, Stainless resonators, Gaz adjustable shocks, Wilwood brakes, braided stainless brake lines, Lightened flywheel, new clutch, GM wire alternator, an alloy radiator with auxiliary fan and poly bushings throughout.
The E-Type was then sold by Mr. Avery to automotive personality and Jaguar Collector, Joseph Limongelli. Mr. Limongelli (known as GT Joey) and author of "Me and My E Type, A Jaguar Adventure" specifically featuring this E-Type. An autographed copy will accompany this sale. Joseph purchased the car about 5 years ago and featured the E-Type on his automotive TV Show, Legends of Design on the Velocity channel.
Recent maintenance upgrades include a ethanol resistant fuel tank along with an electronic su fuel pump and all upgraded fuel injection lines. The Petronix system was removed and installed a 123ignition electronic ignition system. Also fitted were new MWS tubeless wire wheels and Pirelli Cinturato tires.
This E-type is accompanied by all restoration receipts and pictures, wheel knock-off hammer, spare wheel and Jaguar Heritage Trust Certificate. This Series I E-Type presents in superb condition in all areas, cosmetically, mechanically and structurally. It is ready for immediate grand touring enjoyment or the concours lawn.
