Hello just want to tell you a little about my car. I found my Chevelle about 27 years ago in the back parking area of Groton agricultural center. The owner of that Business and I had an equal attraction to the car. Because of the dark green and the white stripe on the hood along with the dark green color on the interior. I was lucky enough to be able to buy the car from him without having the same intentions of keeping it the way it was as you did not see a great number of Chevelles with that color ( I am a red person but the green was eye-catching ). I then began the project of restoration. Stripping the interior out the removal of the seats and interior headliner, glass, and then the engine and drive train. I was at a point where I needed a professional body man as I could do repairs but not a whole frame-off project. I was very fortunate to find a professional body man to take it from there. So starts the process of a frame-off restoration. The engine was sent out to get freshens up, the aluminum case Muncie 4 speed was cleaned and checked, the rear end was cleaned and painted. The frame was sandblasted and all-new under Carriage was replaced. The body was mounted on a rotisserie to be sandblasted and painted. Reassemble then took place. While the body guy worked on the car the frame went back together new brakes, brack lines hoses, and much more. The body was then completed and mounted on the frame all-new interior was installed and again I was able to find a more seasons gentlemen to be able to put headliner, carpet, seats, and rest of upholstery back in that are what he used to do before retiring. At this point, we were winding down to completion. It was completed about 6 months before the first show of the Syracuse nationals and we were able to be there for the week of enjoyment. We have went to the Syracuse nationals every year after and have enjoyed it ( until pandemic hit ) . I never did drive the car much so in the 27 years I’ve only drove it to the nationals and maybe the ice cream stand .
