Used 1973 MG MGB for sale in Lithia Springs, GA
Vehicle Description
This is the brightwork lover's MGB. It was the final full model year for the chrome bumper cars, and so you got the best of the MGB's evolution while also retaining the most desirable style right from the factory. This distinction means these often are worth investing a little more to buy, because they also hold this extra value. So it's great to have such a clean and complete look with the wraparound chrome bumpers and full-length trim. And the grille was so stylishly designed that the hood was even stamped to help showcase its MG badge. This car was restored in 2012, and so the blue paint strikes that nice balance of a uniform application with a sunshine-ready shine that's also been enjoyed enough that it won't make you nervous to take this one out on any sunny Sunday. After all, the optional rear luggage rack just looks ready for you to mount your wicker picnic basket and take off on an adventure.
The black convertible top is in excellent condition, and so it makes for a crisp and clean contrast against the light blue paint. And since these MGBs were known for their full roll-up windows, this one seals out the weather nicely. But a car like this is best when it's open to the world. So that's why we love to see a well-presented black interior. That means a driver-ready package with high-back bucket seats, wood-rimmed sports steering wheel, perfectly placed shifter, and full Smiths gauge package. The heater is there for when you want to get out for those dawn drives, and the radio is now an upgraded AM/FM/CD unit w/Bluetooth to provide the best all-day driving music.
You've probably picked up on all the cues about the driver-friendly packaging we've mentioned so far, and you'll really understand why when you hit the road. The 1.8-liter B-series motor is rev happy, and the twin SU carburetors have plenty of zest. And the way the full package fires up and runs is a reminder of the big investment less than a decade ago and all the care it has received since. It's fun out on the road, and what really helps keep this engine stay in its sweet spot of the powerband is the control offered by the four-speed manual transmission. The nimble steering, modern tires on classic Rostyle wheels, and front disc brakes are all part of this enthusiast package.
The sale comes complete with build receipts and restoration photos. This is a significant car in the history of British drop-tops. So to be able to drive a legend for this price is irresistible. Call today!
