Vehicle Description
A beautiful conversion.excellent body and chassis/floors, show quality deep wine colored paint, very good camel interior, new top, wire wheels, modern stereo/CD unit, AND greatly improved with a complete professional chrome bumper conversion: new sheet metal, lights, bumpers, Mk I grille, and overriders. We even removed the side lights, welded metal to cover the holes, and blended in matching paint to provide an exterior that is virtually identical to the earliest and best looking MGBs.
And best of all, with perfect working overdrive, hence a total of six forward ratios as overdrive works on
3rd and 4th gears. Lowers revs on the highway and adds an amusement factor to normal driving.
52,000 original miles,sSpotless engine compartment, nicely painted and detailed, brand new 32/36DGV Weber carb with optional electric choke, improved manifolds, Monza exhaust, excellent wiring along with the refinements of late model MGBs: servo assist disc brakes, front and rear sway bars, thermostatically controlled electric cooling fans, larger radiator, electronic ignition, more powerful heater with two speed blower, biggest gauges, on and on. In many ways, this car offers the best of the early and the best of the later model MGBs.
Runs 70-75 psi oil pressure when warm, no smoke, superb steering and handling, smooth ride, what is incredible about these late model MGBs is their high degree of civility. And with a top speed of over 100 mph and easy cruising at 70-80-90 mph, how much more performance is really needed?
