Used 1999 Porsche Boxster 5-speed 8500 OBO for sale in Greensboro, NC

I purchased this 99 Boxster in May 2020. Over the last year, I have replaced the O2 sensors on the passenger side, inner tie-rod & outer tie-rod ends, steering shaft boots, front & rear sway bar end links, front hood shocks, gas cap, one wheel cap, spark plugs and tubes with spark plug tube seals. In November 2020, I put on four new 17-inch Continental Extreme Contact DWS06 tires and had it aligned. The tires have less than 1000 miles on them. I completed the items on the Porsche required annual service checklist including oil and oil filter change and a new air filter in April 2021. The only issue was a leaking radiator clamp that was replaced. I only have one key. The owner’s manual and a full tool roll are included the car. The clutch feels like new and the brake pads have about half of their life left.

The only problems with the car are the plastic underbody cover in the right front corner is broken off and hanging down some (there is duct tape holding it in place), the driver’s side seat belt retractor doesn’t function properly, the driver’s seat has one patch, the bumpers are faded and the rear ones have stress cracks and spider-webs, there is one spot a little bigger than a quarter on the rear trunk where the clear coat has failed and both speedometers read 4 mph faster than GPS speed. Also, I broke three header bolts on the passenger side while replacing the O2 sensors. It has not affected performance or caused any maintenance issues. There is only has a little more exhaust smell at start-up but it quickly goes away. I took pictures of these areas except for the speedometers.

The previous owner bought the vehicle from his brother-in-law and put about 25,000 miles on it in his six years of ownership. He was very contentious of maintenance requirements and issues and used his local Porsche dealer for service and maintenance. The previous owner replaced the front engine mount, charcoal canister, the water pump and belt and several other items in addition to regular servicing. Another previous owner replaced the convertible top more than seven years ago which still looks new and the plastic back window is clear. I have partial service receipts dating back to 2013 that come with the car.

The black leather interior looks almost new except for the seats, which are still comfortable and there is some carpet fade. It has automatic climate control, power mirrors, power windows, power brakes, a Power Acoustik PTID-8920B stereo that features Bluetooth, CD player and Pioneer door speakers and a remote control, installed by a previous owner.

At the end of the start up video, the Spoiler warning light on. This is normal. The light goes off as soon as the car is driven forward, like it was designed to.

The Pastel Yellow (L12M) paint is clean and shinny but there are several door dings and scrapes from frequent use, expected with this age and mileage.

I think the car has been painted at least twice. I can only go by what is in the CARFAX report. According to CARFAX, the vehicle was involved in three low speed accidents in 2010, 2014, and 2015, accounting for the SALVAGE / REBUILT title status. There is no recorded airbag deployment. From the CARFAX report:

01/20/10 – (Owner 2) At approximately 90,000 miles, involving a rear impact causing the car to impact the vehicle in front (like at a traffic light), causing the vehicle to be towed away. The airbags did not deploy.

05/13/14 – (Owner 5) At approximately 130,000 miles, there was an incident causing damage to the left front corner. There is no report of the car being towed away. The airbags did not deploy.

11/04/15 – (Owner 5) At approximately 135,000 miles, there was an incident causing damage to the rear resulting in the car being towed. The airbags did not deploy.

This Boxster is a quick and fun car that always gets comments on drives. I have taken it on a couple of 1000 mile weekend trips and am confident taking it cross-country tomorrow or putting it to daily driver or tour use.
