Vehicle Description
Car has 139,763 on the odometer, is located in Fairview and has a clean title in hand. It is bone stock except for the replaced engine. This adult-driven vehicle offers a lot of utility, reliability, and safety, but also has some nice creature comfort and luxury features.
There are no check engine lights on and no looming maintenance items, except for new tires needed. We accept cash for the car, we are available most of the time for you to look at it, and you can test drive it if you’d like.
This rust-free, non-smoker Forester has power leather heated seats, power moonroof, Bluetooth and AUX input, auto climate control, and great A/C. It runs strong, shifts great, and drives great. This is a great family hauler and road trip vehicle, and will get you through the snow and to the trailhead with ease.
We have the original window sticker, owners manual, and maintenance receipts in hand. We only have one key and keyless fob.
Engine replacement:
The original engine seized on us about two weeks ago. 2011 is a problem year for Subaru engines, they have different piston rings which can lead to oil starvation, and that’s what happened.
We had Mike at All Wheel Enterprise in Fairview replace the engine on 5/7/21 with a 2015 Forester engine with only 46,000 miles. These newer engines are much more reliable, and the car shouldn’t consume any oil now. I will run down other maintenance items that were performed a little further down in this post.
The car has been great, other than the engine, but we decided to sell and get a new car.

Maintenance:
Further maintenance performed with the engine replacement on 5/7/21, all parts are OEM:
New valve cover gaskets, spark plug tube seals and new plugs, front timing cover re-seal, intake manifold and exhaust manifold gaskets, oil change and filter, coolant change, left rear lower control arm replaced with used one (was bent by tow truck), left rear shock assembly replaced with used unit, front sway bar end links replaced, also installed a used torque converter and used starter. (Original ones damaged when engine seized.)
Car also has a recent battery and new oxygen sensor installed 2/21 by Mostly Automotive in Asheville.
Things to consider:
This car is in good shape, but is not a garage queen. There are a few dimples in the metal and some light scratches in the usual spots. The driver's seat has a wear spot in the bolster (pictured), the center console has a few doggy nail scratches, and there are some scratches in the plastic interior trim in the back. The plastic rear bumper cover has a couple dings.
The car will need new tires before next winter.
