I bought this ZR2 as a 1-owner vehicle in around 2007 from Fred Beans Chevrolet in Doylestown PA. The original owner used it to attend antiques shows in the mid-Atlantic region (PA/MD/VA/NJ/NY) and much of the mileage is highway miles. Most of the maintenance & repairs were done by the original Chevrolet dealership using genuine GM parts. It was really dependable for me. It's a 4.3 V6 with Positraction locking rearend and 4-wheel disc brakes. The ZR2 uses a completely different heavy-duty ladder frame than the S10 4x4. It's reinforced and has a stance about 4 inches wider and 4 inches taller than the S10 4x4. It's an offroader's dream to build on. It has power windows and locks, 4-wheel disc brakes, power heated mirrors, tilt leather wrapped steering wheel, cruise control, AM/FM/CD TheftLock stereo, tach and gauges, 3rd person jump seat in the rear, sliding rear window, tinted glass by Auto Custom Radio, map-lite mirror, electric on-the-fly transfer case, carbon fiber skid plates, trailer hitch receiver, etc. It had new upper and lower ball joints installed less than 15,000 miles ago. It had a new battery installed in the last 3 years.

I have recently (800 miles) put new General Grabber ATx 31-10.50R-15 tires on it and even less miles on 4 new hi-performance coated, slotted and drilled rotors and ceramic pads and 2 anti-corrosion specially coated calipers. The tires had the highest rating in virtually every category for on/offroad tires at TireRack at the time of purchase. The tires still have the little nubs on them! An exact replacement reproduction axle brake line was installed. It also has a K&N reusable hi-performance air filter.

The transmission is starting to slip from 2nd to 3rd ("2-3 Flare") and needs to be babied, or you can just put it in 2nd and drive it without any shifting. I don't know if it needs a solenoid or 3-4 clutches (rebuild.) I have not tried dropping the pan to check any of the solenoids, nor have I tried changing fluids. NO transmission error codes come up on a scan tool.

Typical rust and rot on it are the rockers and the passenger side cab corner. The passenger side door is dented by a snow bank during the freak 6-foot snow storm of 2014. All 4 ZR2 flares ($$$) are in great shape, no cracks, no chips. The truck is loaded with most options including the 3rd door, which has the JTR metal door handle fix. The interior has no rips. All the gauges work, power windows and locks work. It has bucket seats and console. The truck has an Extang tonneau cover and a bedliner but the cover has a tear about a foot long up front and it lost some snaps and I don't bother opening it, I just put the gate down to load things. The 4-wheel drive works GREAT, especially with these tires

A friend said he'd put a used transmission in it but I just bought another vehicle so I must sell this or store it at his place; maybe I'll rebuild the transmission and advertise it for $3000 later if it doesn't sell now. Installed, the tires and brake system are worth over $1200 alone. There's over a thousand dollars in GM ZR2 fender flares, so you can part the truck out if you don't want to drive it.
