Used SOLD! Almost Cherry 1952 Willys Pickup Truck - - by for sale in Underwood, OR
Vehicle Description
I gave this truck a full body-off restoration about 20 years ago. The frame was (and is) an almost impossible-to-find perfectly straight rust-free frame. The engine is a (nearly) original Super Hurricane 6-226, which actually came out of a 1954 (I had two trucks and took the best parts out of each when rebuilding this). 3 speed transmission with overdrive and hi/lo and 4wd shifters all working perfectly.
The truck has been sitting unused and covered for the last 3 years. When I last drove it, it drove perfectly. I just replaced the fuel pump and distributor (upgraded to electric distributor) and changed out all the gas. The truck will start but probably needs a carb rebuild to really run correctly. The brakes work, but could probably use a new master and wheel cylinders.
She could use a new coat of paint as well. They yellow has bubbled in several places.
The cover leaked water into the bed which now has surface rust. Windshield and rear window are perfect (smoke colored), side windows on both sides have cracks. The heater was working last I used it (it's very powerful) but is now missing a connection, shouldn't be too hard to get it running again.
Kids and work and life just conspired so I haven't been able to give this old beauty the love she deserves over the last few years. I think a small amount of work would have both engine and cosmetics such that it could be a daily driver (this thing is unstoppable in the snow) or a show-quality piece.
