Vehicle Description
PLEASE READ THE AD BEFORE CALLING ME WITH QUESTIONS THAT ARE ANSWERED IN THE AD! I am trying to save us all time by being as upfront about this car as possible. It runs but it will need work.
Mechanics special-noise coming from timing chain cover
This car has served me well but my girlfriend refuses to ride in it anymore. So not worth fixing it for me.
the good:
Everything works ( power windows, AC blows cold, Heat blows hot, power skylight window works) except: cruise control, trunk lid latch.
this is a peppy vehicle, much zippier than my 98 Camry.
Has been mechanically well maintained, oil changed regularly, just changed valve cover gasket and spark plug wires and boots, recently replaced headlamps.
Still registered , have title (salvage).
Passed smog in April 2020 with very good numbers.
has the optional aluminum mag wheels.
Has an aftermarket Sony car stereo w / cd player.
The bad:
The body has some dings , the interior is rough on the two driver side panels (due to a dog co-rider), drivers seat fabric needs cleaning. (no rust)
Engine runs good but a rattling sound is occasionally coming from the timing chain cover-am guessing will need timing chain work.
Car was in two fender benders , both front and rear bumpers were pushed in, but damage was repaired reasonably well.
Interior door panels on drivers side front and rear are a bit chewed up and are repaired with screws and fender washers. New or used panels are expensive.
215K miles on it , much of it freeway. it should drive to anywhere in the bay area but the timing chain noise needs to be addressed soon.
This is either a mechanics special or a parts car. These are great cars, I will be sad to see it go.
Karl , Novato, Fridays AM best time to come and see. Car is currently under Affidavit of Non - use.
