1980 Volkswagen LT31 cargo van imported from fire department in Hamburg Germany: $17,000 OBO
Original engine with 31,279 Kilometers (19,435 miles).
4 speed manual, runs great! Invested a lot of time and money into the LT to make it a clean running daily driver.
It's made many trips to both Seattle and Bend with no problems.
Engine is easy to work on, same engine as an Audio 200 or Porsche 924 so parts are readily available.
As an added bonus I also have a spare engine, transmission, and carburetor with 18,000 Kilometers (11,184) on it.
Engine is from exact same 1980 Volkswagen LT31 from same fire department.
Never released in the USA, it's like a Vanagon on steroids.
Clean title, easy to insure and passes DEQ.
Sliding doors on both sides, rear has two barn style doors that open 135 degrees and
magnet latch to sides of van like a Sprinter.
This van was the precursor to the Sprinter, bed is 10 feet long and 6 feet wide, measures 54" between wheel wells.
floor to ceiling is 58 inches.

Added TBI Fuel Injection from Volkswagen Golf (improved horse power and fuel economy),
new TBI Fuel Injection micro chip,
rebuilt and replaced clutch fly wheel,
head surfaced and gasket replaced,
new cylinder head bolts,
exhaust manifold re-surface and replaced gaskets,
replaced timing belt and tensioner,
new thermostat,
new brakes,
re-packed wheel bearings,
new front shock absorbers,
new air filter,
new oil pan gasket,
new battery,
new rear leaf springs + added leaf for greater load capacity,
new muffler + added CAT,
replaced dog house insulation with Gator Skin spray liner,
new O2 sensor in exhaust for TBI injection,
new hall sender distributor,
pulled gas tank, flush and reseal + new fuel lines,
new fuel pump (both old and new pump in use),
new water pump,
new drive belt,
insulated van bed with 1/2" rubber mat,
stereo with blue tooth and phone receiver.
