Vehicle Description
It’s a 5.8 liter, manual transmission, compound low with overdrive (5 forward gears). It has a rack and a 2” receiver for towing. It has peeling paint and cracked bondo from a poor body repair job on the driver side door. It is a well running pickup that isn’t going to win any beauty contest.
The registration is paid through October of next year.
It runs well and is a dependable, powerful truck. The gas mileage is terrible but I have never checked it. I have left it parked for months at a time yet it starts up as soon as I try it.
My plan is to turn it in for $1,200 next October when the registration is due. It has been registered for the last 2 years so it is eligible for the BAAQMD program.
I replaced the radiator about a year ago because it had corroded from sitting in storage.
I will take the tires off another F250 I have and put them on this truck because it has a couple of worn tires.
I put 150k for the mileage but I really don’t know. I needed to have something there to post this tonight. I will check it tomorrow and edit the post at that time.
My offer is to sell the truck to someone that needs a work truck to make some money. If they want they can turn the truck in next October and get their $1,200 back. The extra $100 is for me to smog it so they can transfer it to their name.
So someone can have a work truck for one year at no cost other than paying for a smog test.
Here are the things that I know of that are wrong with the truck:
1) It needs the ignition switch replaced on the steering column. I haven’t done that because I put a piece of duct tape on it to keep it from moving to the off position while driving.
2) Sometimes when I put gas in it the pressure builds up quickly and the gas delivery stops. I have to pull the fill nozzle back a little to release the pressure and then start again. This is very frustrating and takes extra time to put gas in it. At other times it fills up without stopping. I don’t know what causes that.
3) Air conditioner/heater does not work. I think the problem with the heater is the control cable that opens the air vent has fallen off the vent. When you move the lever you can feel there is no resistance. I have never looked under the dash to see what the problem is.
The truck won’t be available for another week or so because it is my daily driver until I get a new starter in my Honda Civic. I use it to go back and forth to Berkeley each day.
