Used 1967 Chevelle SS 396 4-spd - real 138 VIN car! for sale in Willernie, MN
Vehicle Description
Beautifully restored on a very clean bodied original 138 SS big block 4 speed car. Trim tag and VIN verify this car also came with a 4 speed, console, stereo tape player (don’t have but nice original fitting digital am/fm radio), center console and black bucket seat interior. Incredible detail on this frame off restoration. Approximately only about 1000 miles since completion 4+ years ago. It looks as nice underneath as it does on top! Not a matching numbers motor but it looks the part with an upgraded pump gas 427 that runs like a Swiss watch on pump gas! Quick summary below:
• Complete body off restoration. Everything completely stripped down to the bare shell on a very clean car! Beautifully finished in 2 stage Sikkens Bolero Red. Not going to lie – the trim tag says it was Maderia Maroon but when you see the car all is forgiven on the color change. Done right and stripped to the bare metal!
• Full frame restoration on a straight and solid original frame including powder coating, all new bushings and steering components.
• All new brake and fuel lines.
• Rebuilt Muncie 4 speed transmission that shifts incredible. I’ve had many Muncie cars but never had one shift this smooth.
• Pump gas and near stock appearing 427 BBC. Has aftermarket HEI distributor and intake but just a couple of swaps could make it completely original in appearance if that is your gig. Hydraulic roller cam. This is a de-stroked 454 with all kinds of power!
• Brand new 17 and 18 inch Torque thrust wheels.
• Full 2.5 inch stainless Magnaflow X-pipe exhaust (sounds amazing).
• All new black interior. Code 763-B (original black bucket seat). I have had a large number of restored cars over the years but this is the nicest restored interior I have ever seen. The time, money and detail speak for themselves. Does NOT have option RPO U14 for factory gauges. That was an option only and not standard for any SS cars. This car matches the trim tag for options (buckets, console, rear antenna).
• Excellent glass, chrome and trim.
• Aftermarket AM/FM stereo that is a stock bolt in.
I have a folder full of documentation/receipts for the restoration done by the previous owner. This is my second season and sadly I’ve only had it out for about 120 miles since I bought it. Now life’s plans are changing and it’s time to find someone that can really put some miles on and enjoy this incredible car! Clear title in my name with no secured interests.
At the end of the day I do not have to sell this car so lowballers and dreamers need not inquire. This is for the serious 1967 Chevelle buyer that can see and appreciate quality.
